Charlotte (NC)- Braxton G. Becoats announced that he is exploring a candidacy for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education District 3 on December 20, 2019.
“I’m exploring this candidacy because the time is right. The time is right for a fresh perspective. The time is right for innovative leadership. The time is right for community-based leadership,” Becoats said. “I believe that education & leaders matter and am exploring this candidacy because I believe that I can provide new & innovative leadership to both District 3 & Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools through my community-based leadership.”
Becoats is an educator in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools where he serves middle school students as a Social Studies teacher. Additionally, Becoats serves as the Chair of the School Leadership Team at his school site.
Becoats is also active in the community where he serves in the African-American Caucus of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party (Member), Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg (Legislative Director), and Charlotte Mecklenburg Association of Educators (Association Representative).
“During this holiday season, it is my prayer our community, especially our educators, find time to rest, relax, and experience the joy that was brought when Jesus Christ was born.”
